Songwriting Workshop with Brody Bond

Getting unstuck in the process of writing a song.

At his songwriting workshops, Brody gives a look at the process of how he writes songs, and invites attendees into the creative process. Examples, tips, and demonstrations will be offered throughout.

The event is designed for attendees to feel more equipped emotionally, artistically, and technically to write their own songs.

TOPICS INCLUDE

  • The promise and possibility of writing a song

  • Elements of a song

  • Methods and ideas for getting started on writing a song

  • How to gain the courage to write a song

  • Workshopping ideas, LIVE

  • Helpful tools and tips for songwriters

The workshop is entirely interactive, with the group engaging in discussion and co-creation activities throughout. All experience levels are welcome.

The typical workshop is 2-3 hours. And the length can be customized based on your goals and desired number of attendees (from 90 minutes to an all-day intensive with meals). While there’s always more exercises, examples, and material that we can cover the 2-3 hour window gets through the core material really well.

ABOUT BRODY BOND:

To listen to most of Brody Bond’s songs is to fall into a bit of a trap. You might hear something that at first feels comfortable and familiar. But then you realize something else is happening. You’re being offered new ways to perceive your experience in the world.

Brody Bond, a performing songwriter from Baltimore, MD, hopes his songs can be a type of emotional resource for people. With a voice that’s confident though fragile, melodies that take surprising turns, and lyrics that are as smart as they are emotionally vulnerable, Brody’s songs will delight especially the critical listener, and especially anyone who has grown from heartbreaking circumstances.

His latest concept record, The Mo(µ)rning EPs, is available on all streaming platforms. Brody regularly peforms throughout the US. More info can be found at brodybond.com
